Chun Yu, Ph.D. is an award-winning bilingual poet, graphic novelist, scientist, and translator. Chun is the author of the multi-award-winning memoir “Little Green: Growing Up During the Chinese Cultural Revolution” (Simon & Schuster) and a historical graphic novel in progress (Macmillan). Her work is taught internationally in world history and culture classes. She is an honoree of the 2020 YBCA 100 for creative changemakers. Her project Two Languages/One Community connects Chinese and African American communities. Arne Jin An Wong was born in San Francisco’s Chinatown, the first Chinese American to open an animation studio in Hollywood. He has won an Emmy for the short film “Bean Sprouts”, about first-generation Chinese American immigrants, and a Clio award for Best Animated TV Commercials in America. Other works include “Tron”, “Heavy Metal”, “Spiderman”, “CatDog”, “Dora, the Explorer”, and “Tales of the Maya Skies”, a full-dome planetarium film. He taught animation at the Academy of Art University, SF State University. He is in collaboration with Chun Yu, illustrating a graphic novel of his family’s century-long immigration stories.
